Job Description

Taylor & Francis is looking for a team player to join our busy and growing Special Sales team.  The Account Manager, Special Sales will maximize sales opportunities with both current and new customers in the North American market.  The successful candidate will maintain relationships with key customers, follow up leads, and provide high-level support to drive sales of our specialized content. 

With a strong background in sales and business development, you will sell directly to businesses, nonprofits, schools, government, authors, resellers, and other specialty customers,  employing consultative selling techniques and understanding how our products meet customers’ needs. You will be managing current accounts and prospecting for new customers and business opportunities on a regular basis.

What you will be doing:

  • Managing our existing accounts as well as prospecting for new business opportunities 
  • Selling directly to a wide range of customers ensuring products best meet their needs
  • Collaborating with Editorial and Marketing colleagues, following-up on sales leads to maximize opportunities 
  • Manage accounts and prospects using Salesforce.com
  • Working with Customer Service, providing follow through for all sales ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Maintaining sales pipeline for accurate forecasting purposes
  • Providing detailed feedback regarding titles to editorial and marketing departments.
  • Communicating effectively with Manager regarding sales opportunities and issues
  • Calling upon accounts to present publications for training, for promotional purposes, for resale, etc.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • A proven track record in sales and/or business development 
  • Ambitious and personable phone manner
  • Ability to work independently
  • Effective presentation and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Office package and Internet. 
  • Publishing or previous business to business sales experience preferred.
