Verusen is seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Senior SDET) for our new Quality Engineering team. As a Senior SDET, you will be building resilient, scalable, reliable, and robust test automation solutions.

Quality Engineering at Verusen is not a service provided to Engineers - all team members are accountable for the quality of their deliverables; however, Verusen understands that this effort must be led by subject matter experts and automation best practices require focus in a full-time manner on these efforts. Quality Engineers are those subject matter experts on each team, continuously driving improved practices and standards while assisting the team with test automation across service contracts, integration, system, and functional efforts.

As Quality Engineering is a new formality for Verusen, the Senior SDET will also be responsible for identifying and advocating for improvements in test processes and standards, working with Engineering leadership to implement these efforts across the organization.

You should have strong automation experience in creating testing solutions for CI/CD pipelines. You should be able to train junior SDETs within your domain expertise. Additionally, you should have strong communication and soft skills, being able to argue a point effectively and influence peers across the organization to drive growth.

As a rapidly growing SaaS product, Verusen depends on the capabilities of its Quality Engineering team to ensure we can deliver quality functionality to our customers as soon as it becomes available, working our way toward multivariate testing capabilities. As a Senior SDET, you will receive a mix of well-structured and abstract problems to solve, working with other team members to collaborate and implement effective and scalable solutions.

The successful candidate must be driven, innovative, self-starter, a team player and has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and support automated testing framework
• Strong in developing test strategies, test plan and test cases
• Assist in debugging of test failures and ensure appropriate reporting is in place to provide feedback to stakeholders
• Work closely with developers and product managers to understand feature requirements and technical implementation
• Participate in all sprint ceremonies and communicate effectively with team members
• Assist Quality Engineering teams in their application of best practices and the quality of their deliverables
• Partner with Product and Engineering on release practices and schedules, ensuring testing is owned and completed with each increment of the platform delivered
• Proactively assess risks and help to find issues as early as possible

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience with hands-on Quality Engineering and test automation)
• 2+ years of experience working with automated test solutions
• 2+ years of programming experience preferably with Python
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks like Selenium, TestNG, RestAssured, pytest, Behave, and Cucumber
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD
• Hands-on experience creating successful test automation suites and partnering with Engineering teams in this effort
• Applicable knowledge of new and emerging technologies in the Quality Engineering and automation domains
• Experience participating in standards and governance within an organization
• Analytical mindset and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
• Positive approach, good culture fit, and a passion for Quality Engineering and automation
• Good communication skills
• Supply Chain experience a plus
• Rapid Growth and/or Startup experience a plus
