The Senior User Experience Designer works closely with clients and agency team members to intimately understand client and user needs, develop and document a user experience strategy, and advocate for these needs throughout the project lifecycle.

The Senior User Experience Designer will be responsible for UX design deliverables and activities ranging from stakeholder interviews, user research, and UX design documentation (journey maps, sitemaps, wireframes, functional specifications, etc.).

The ideal candidate will be resourceful and flexible, with exceptional teamwork skills, and is able to work in a fast-paced, high productivity environment under tight deadlines.

  • A strong understanding of user-centered design methodologies and principles required
  • Great communication skills – able to present work and findings to internal stakeholders, clients, and vendors
  • Ability to understand and refine client strategies and identify content and functionality that meets both client objectives and user goals
  • Collaboration with copywriters, visual designers, and programmers to design the user interaction model, information architecture, and user interfaces
  • Ability and passion to solve problems collaboratively with a small team, but also able to execute independently and make strong recommendations
  • Discerning attention to detail with excellent critical thinking, logic and analytical skills
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and manage ambiguity and an ever-changing landscape Balances and appreciates both the qualitative and quantitative sides of user experience
  • Ability to see other points of view and diplomatically hash out the pros and cons of any particular approach
  • Perpetually driven to sharpen and broaden skills, aiming always for greatness

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead stakeholder interviews, usability studies, expert evaluations, and brainstorming sessions
  • Design and validate user interfaces and experiences for multiple platforms across websites, apps, social media, mobile, and more
  • Create user journeys, scenarios, personas, etc.
  • Develop information architecture deliverables (site maps, taxonomies, flow diagrams)
  • High level sketching, concepting and storyboarding
  • Design wireframes and create interactive prototypes
  • Mentor and oversee junior team members
  • NOTE: Demonstrable design sense is a plus, but this is NOT A VISUAL DESIGN POSITION (Sorry, art directors.)

Qualifications

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Portfolio of high quality, polished UX deliverables (site maps, wireframes, etc.)
  • Ability to use UX software such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, Justinmind, or OmniGraffle to create site maps, wireframes, user flows, and prototypes
  • Proficiency in Office applications
  • 3-5 years as a practicing UX professional
  • Pharmaceutical strongly desired
  • Some agency experience required

Desired:

  • Strong understanding of responsive web design, interactive front-end technologies, and browser/platform constraints
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
