Job Description

As a Business Partner, you will be responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. This position reports to the Manager, Strategic Partnerships, and formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and staff that reflects the organization's business objectives. In addition, you will maintain an effective level of business literacy about ATPCO’s financial position, midrange strategic plans, culture, and market positioning. 

You will:  

  • Carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations consultation, policy interpretation and application, performance, and compensation management consultation; and talent management consultation 
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance while partnering with internal legal partners 
  • Conduct weekly meetings with respective business units and consult with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate 
  • Lead and support annual HR cycle deliverables to include performance management, merit and bonus awards, and benefits enrollment 
  • Conduct ongoing supply and demand analysis for current and future state staffing/skill needs and design talent acquisition strategies to meet those needs 
  • Partner with the People and Culture team and appropriate ATPCO leaders to grow the capacity of the organization’s key talent to include a high potential program
  • Participate in annual budget planning and labor forecasting process with business partners 
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, policy interpretations and application, talent management and development, and organizational design consultation) 
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to assist international employees with assignments and related HR matters 
  • Develop terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers and co-facilitate New Employee Orientation (NEO) programs 
  • Builds collaborative working relationships with the HR Centers of Excellence (COE) functions to roll out corporate-wide programs and ensure client’s needs are understood and met.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce and succession planning, and identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs 

The Ideal Candidate: 

  • Experience with labor laws, HR legislative requirements, and legal compliance 
  • Knowledge of global HR practices and legal restrictions in a variety of countries
  • In-depth experience supporting corporate functions 
  • Solid experience with recruiting and hiring, performance management, and employee relations 
  • Experience with program development, organizational development, and health and safety programs 
  • Extensive work experience in an HR-related field or HR management role 
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential 
  • A Master’s Degree in HR or HR professional designation is preferred but not required
