Job Description

Reporting to the Director, we are looking to hire a Payment Specialist to execute our payment channel integrations.
The candidate will bring business acumen and industry experience to our client to help us connect with the best payment channels across Africa.
The ideal candidate is able to quickly build trust with a wide variety of stakeholders leveraging a mix of practical experience, interpersonal skills, financial acumen, Mobile Money, Banking, Cards Integration know-how, operational savvy, process improvement, and analytical thinking.

1. Commercial Responsibilities -

  • Shortlisting most user friendly /dominant payment options for the assigned territory
  • Contacts with Payment Providers
  • Revenue Share Negotiations
  • Compiling required documentation and sending to Payment Providers for getting contracts
  • Relationship Building with Commercial / IT / Technical departments of payment providers
  • Identifying New Payment Options within the assigned territory
  • Competition Tracking (E-commerce Companies, Sports Betting Companies)


2. Technical Responsibilities - 

  • Responsible for Technical Integrations liaising with HO Technical team and for Mobile Money and Card Integrations.
  • Getting API documentation from the payment provider and sending to HO Technical team for development
  • Functional Requirement Specification & Technical documents filling for related to Mobile Money and Cards
  • Coordination with HO Tech team and Payment Providers to launch services as per the stipulated timelines
  • Prepare Technical Teams for UAT for New Payment Provider Launch
  • Design and Implement API flows in the payment gateway to support New Payment Providers


3. Operations Support Responsibilities -

  • Managing high availability of Payment Provider System
  • Responsible for resolving technical issues with regards to Payment Providers (Deposits, Withdrawals, Downtime etc.)
  • Provide second line support for Payment gateways for Technical Issues.
  • Recommending New Payment Products for better Customer Experience and Incremental Business
  • Responsible for sharing Technical Escalation Matrix and Key Contacts to Operations Team.
  • Perform daily system health check to identify any anomalies in the Payment System


4. Key Performance Indicator -

  • Commercial Contracts from Payment Providers
  • Revenue Share Negotiations
  • Competition Tracking
  • Relationship Building with Payment Providers
  • Ensuring smooth communication between HO Technical Team and Payment Provider Technical Team

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications

  • Candidate from Telecom or Banking background
  • Mobile Money, Card Integration experience preferred
  • Africa Work Experience Mandatory
  • VAS Experience preferred even though not mandatory
  • Existing relationship with payments providers in Africa will be highly desirous
  •  Relationship Builder, Team Player and Problem solve
