Job Description

We are looking to bring an self-motivated, Tech enthusiast Senior / Software Engineer to work in our eCommerce, Order to Cash Technology Team in Product & Technology Organization. You will help to innovate, improve, and deliver all aspects of content delivery channels and enhance with new ideas how a digital platform can enable new business models for the Taylor And Francis digital portfolio. You'll have an incredible opportunity to build a career within a start-up like environment while helping our ecommerce products and purchase offerings to our diverse customer base worldwide.

We work with different technologies mainly including Java, Node.js, Angular, Spring, Rest API, Camel, S3, SQS, SNS, Gradle, Maven etc. The team poses advance knowledge in DevOps including CI/CD, Docker, build automations etc. The team leads the company in developing the solutions for replacing the traditional business processes. We are cloud first organisation, and our entire infrastructure resides on the backbone of AWS, MuleSoft and few others. As a Software Engineer you will work with like-minded talented engineers towards building micro services, websites, Ecommerce solution. As we grow, you will contribute onwards the vision of digitalising all processes including sales, business, analytics, maintenance, invoicing etc.

What you’ll be doing:

This will be a hands-on opportunity in which you will be responsible for taking a lead role of a project team. You will be directly responsible for running the technical releases of a scrum team and you will have a team of 4-5 software engineers working with you in this project. You will also build new platforms and tools to the highest quality and reliability to enable us to continue our transition to a micro-service oriented architecture and integration of new third-party services.

  • Work on digital transformation of T&F Order to Cash and Digital Supply Chain Systems & Services to our customers and business.
  • Follow Test driven development, review and improve source code by implementing design patterns, efficient algorithms and appropriate data structures.
  • Design low level design, technical specification, system design and application design with Amazon Web Services, MuleSoft, SQL and NoSQL Databases.
  • Define migration procedures of existing features and workflows to a micro-service and event driven software solutions.
  • Build and manage API, workers and other services to run highly scalable distributed systems with high availability.
  • Responsible to Bring tech innovations which will help in growth of the platform.
  • Implement disaster recovery of the platform making is run across multiple data centres within AWS.
  • Analyse and optimizatise systems capacity, performance, and operational health of the platforms.
  • Help define development best practices.

Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience in Commercial Java Development
  • Hands on experience with Front End frameworks like Angular, React or similar
  • Spring, Spring boot, Camel etc.
  • Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and working knowledge on Travis or Jenkins or Bamboo or similar tools
  • Rest API  Principles
  • Build automation using Maven, Gradle etc.
  • Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes
  • Hands on experience in AWS
  • Hands on with TDD
  • You have a minimum 4+ years of working experience in above technologies in projects.
  • You have a Bachelor or Master Computer Science degree.

Desirable Skills

  • Hands on experience with Server-Side development with Typescript, ES6, NodeJS, Express.
  • Experience in creating build and deployment with NPM, Gulp, Grunt, Babel etc.
  • Dependency management with NPM, Bower or similar.
  • Travis
  • Experience in ECS, Elastic beanstalk, SQS, SNS etc. will be advantageous
  • Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases like Postgres, Mongo, Dynamo db etc.
  • Terraform
