Staff Data Engineer, Cloud Workforce Protection

Zscaler is hiring Data Engineers to work on delivering a multi-tenant, scalable, and secure SaaS platform with a microservices architecture. Does this sound like you?

 Responsibilities:

• Research, design, and experiment to execute fast proof of concepts to evaluate similar products.
• Create architecture diagrams, design, and prototypes with integration as a primary goal.
• As a core member of the technical panel contribute towards research, architecture, and design of the next generation Zscaler Cloud Security products.
• Develop and Optimize algorithms, contributing to improve and develop new patents.
• Create and deliver prototypes to larger teams as reusable components.
• Engage with a larger Zscaler’s technology leadership, to cross-pollinate learnings.
• Ability to translate product vision to execution via prototypes.
• As a team member of solution research you will be responsible to bring clarity in technical ambiguous situations.

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering roles.
• Willingness to get hands-on to execute proof of concepts.
• 5 + years of experience with Snowflake or data warehouse and analytics systems.
• 5+ years of experience with SQL systems.
• 3 + Experience working with real-time data processing systems.
• 3+ years of experience with Neo4j databases or other graph databases.
• 3+ years of experience as a Python developer.
• Excellent data structure and algorithms skills to optimize data transformations, increase performance for queries in production systems.
• Experience optimizing Neo4j or  other graph databases systems for performance, scalability, availability.

Nice to Have

• Experience with streaming data via Apache Flink, Apache Beam, Apache Storm, Apache Airflow, Kafka
• Experience with Graph databases like Neo4j, AWS Neptune
• Experience with NoSQL DB’s Cosmos or MongoDB
• Experience with Snowflake and Presto, Trinio or dremio.
• Experience in developing enterprise cloud-native SaaS products.
• Experience with at least one cloud provides AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, standards, and tooling.
• Experience and visibility in the broader open-source and technology community.
• Working tutorials, samples, or projects that make use of cloud native and/or CNCF related projects.
