Shopify is looking for a Senior Growth Marketing Manager to accelerate our merchant growth in Germany. In this role, you’ll be responsible for Shopify’s merchant growth goals for the German market, helping individuals across the country to gain economic independence.
The mission is to bring millions of merchants and aspiring entrepreneurs across the region, on to Shopify. We’re looking for a strong operator and Growth Marketing Manager who is experienced in building and working with cross-functional teams and delivering measurable results. Reporting into the EMEA Growth Marketing Lead, you’ll be shaping our merchant acquisition, activation and retention strategies, and defining the strategy to hit our goals.
You will work closely with the regional team and other growth and marketing teams to find opportunities in both existing and emerging new marketing channels in Germany. You are data-informed, with a deep knowledge of the local market and hands-on experience in multiple marketing channels, such as SEO, Paid advertising, content marketing, CRO, affiliate marketing, and email marketing. You will be responsible for overall Germany performance marketing strategy and execution.
Responsibilities
Identifying levers for Merchant growth and Owning the Active merchant goal for the German market.
Direct and support German market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data for short- and long-term market forecasts, reports, budgets, and ROI.
Run annual marketing investment planning and strategy.
Establish closed-loop analytics to understand how our marketing activity turns into leads and customers, and continually refine our process to improve the conversion rate.
Owning acquisition efforts across Local Paid marketing channels that aren’t run by the central teams.
Partner with the central Paid marketing, SEO, content marketing, CRO, affiliate marketing, and email marketing automation teams to achieve acquisition goals across all performance marketing channels in the German market.
Managing the relationship between key stakeholders in Germany, ensuring insights and strategies are being communicated to other local Shopify teams.
Owns activation and retention metrics and work towards improving them, by identifying gaps in the funnel, devising experiments to plug gaps, and doubling down on successful experiments
Identifying a list of experiments that can be run across the funnel, prioritizing and scheduling these experiments to be run continuously
Working with the developers, designers, and content writers to run these experiments and to interpret results well.
4-5 years of experience in fields of Growth Marketing, affiliate marketing, and/or acquisition campaign management in Germany.
A strong context on e-commerce, especially the D2C space in Germany.
Growth mindset and a solid understanding of all performance marketing channels: Paid, SEO, CRO, affiliate marketing, content marketing, and email marketing automation.
Ability to engage with senior management Strong understanding of data.
Have proven ability to build and scale marketing business models.
Have proven experience in go-to-market marketing strategies and execution.
Understanding of business intelligence: data readiness, analytical skills.
Understanding of marketing funnels, segmentation and brand positioning.
