Job Description

The Technical Engagement Lead is responsible for providing technical assistance related to data migrations and establishing archives.  They will work with the Project Managers for complex situations involving extracting data from a source system and migrating the data to a new destination.  The data may be available as a backup from an existing application or strictly data files without a source application.  They are also responsible for assisting the Project Team when needed to help define the scope and plan timelines for the delivery.  The Technical Engagement Lead works very closely with the client and the ELLKAY Technical Team.  They aid in determining the method of extraction from the source system, the transfer of data, and the approach for restoration of the data files.  They are also responsible for assisting in the establishment of the project timeline, reviewing the quality assurance plan, and providing updates to the client and internal teams on complex issue resolution.

The Technical Engagement Lead is the primary resource for technical guidance if needed to assure DMEs and Developers have the necessary information to resolve issues.  They serve as the liaison between the Data Migration Engineer and the client.  They are responsible for assuring there is a common understanding of the scope and timing of the data migration projects.  They also identify risks and roadblocks that may be in the way of a successful project. 
The Technical Engagement Leader also serves as a resource for more technical projects within the EMR Data Migration team.  Examples would include methods to perform internal communication, storing documents, tracking projects as well as other project management tools.  Based on their knowledge of various tools they may also conduct training sessions for other team members.

Responsibilities: 

For Acute, Enterprise and complex Ambulatory clients provide technical advice and assistance for the following:

  • Assist in pre-sale calls with potential clients to answer basic technical questions and provide guidance on accessing source system UI,
  • Work with prospect or client to describe technical and application user resources and needed for the project
  • Advise clients and PMs on extraction methods that could be used to obtain the data from various systems and data types
  • Advise clients and PMs on transfer methods available for size and type of database
  • Evaluate and advise clients on acceptable format types for data
  • Work with PMs to assure requirements for new development are comprehensive and in a format that will be helpful to DMEs
  • Work with DMEs to help resolve issues regarding missing data, mapping data, custom reports or any other issue requiring an interpretation of technical requirements
  • Assist PM and DME to relay information regarding technical requirements to the client
  • Assist with determining timelines for resolutions that require technical development
  • Working with client to complete configuration workbook as required
  • Assist with QA activities as needed, performing tasks such as:
    • Reviewing data from a business perspective
    • Reviewing/validating archive changes before final publish to production
    • Identifying data discrepancies
    • Validation of interfaces
  • Assist PMO with brainstorming and recommendations related to technical solutions for project structure and organization including document organization within Microsoft related products, templates for project trackers, and technical guides
  • Assist with brainstorming and offering guidance related to technical gaps in the project lifecycle, and recommendations to strengthen the relationship between PMs and Technical teams within ELLKAY
  • Assist in "translating" certain technical terms, developments, and issues reported by the technical team(s) to the client and business users

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in MIS, IS, CIS, Engineering, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration or related field or relevant work experience.

  • 3-5 years of QA, engineering, development life cycles or system administration experience
  • 1-3 years' experience in process management such as Agile, Lean or Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years’ experience with ETL, Data Migration, EDI or HL7 interfaces
  • 1-2 years’ experience with Issue Support and Resolution
  • 3-5 years’ experience with large scale project management
  • PMP certification
