The role…
Here at Experian, Global Finance Services Operations (Global Finance Services Ops) is a global organisation comprising 4 main offshore centres in Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Brazil, and Malaysia together with small onshore teams in North America, UK, and Colombia. Approx. 500 FTE (50% of global finance) are now located in the GFS Ops organisation and activities range from Accounts Payable, to Cash Collections, to Payroll to Accounting and Controllership and FP&As

This role is critical to driving and delivering the control and compliance strategy within Global Finance Service Operations

What you’ll be doing…

The role has primary responsibility for driving the control and compliance strategy through:

  • The role has a team of 6 FTE located across UK, Costa Rica, Bulgaria and Malaysia supporting the control framework in each GFS centre.
  • Creating and leading on the strategy for Controls and Compliance within GFS Ops
  • Identifying and implementing best practice technology to automate controls and drive a proactive controls framework
  • Leading on ICFR implementation within GFS Ops
  • Leading on and delivering Governance frameworks for compliance within GFS Ops
  • Mitigating risks and loss events across GFS Ops
  • Leading on global audit delivery
  • Ensuring compliance of GFS Ops with Global and Regional Policies
  • Monitoring Controls and Policy compliance through reporting and KPIs
  • Designing 1LoD Controls within GFS, RACI and hand offs with stakeholders to ensure clarity of process and control
  • Reviewing existing controls against Risk control matrix to ensure risks are mitigated
  • Improving controls and processes throughout the GFS
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiency processes, share best practice between regions and teams
  • Considering new risks, and mitigating controls
  • Providing support to members of GFS regarding process controls

Functional and Technical skills:

  • A strong drive to understand the key Controls of a business.
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Presence, gravitas, and ability to influence senior stakeholders in both finance and non-finance roles.
  • Adaptability to change and a proven track record of working in a fast -paced matrix organisation and with key working relationships being geographically remote.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of technical accounting – e.g., revenue recognition, capex, etc.
  • High confidence and ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with several stakeholders across the finance function.

Experience:

  • A tangible track record of independently improving the efficiency, accuracy and insight provided by finance processes.

Qualifications

 

  • CIMA / ACCA or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of working in a SOx or equivalent regulated organisation
