Global trade still largely runs on a messy chain of emails and excel files. Trillions of dollars of trade essentially runs on a platform called email. Shipsy is there to solve this problem. Shipsy's SaaS based platform helps businesses manage all aspects of international trade - working with vendors to procure rates for shipping, having a digital workflow management platform to complete all documentation related activities, integrations with global shipping lines to bring about end to end visibility and reducing invoicing errors through smart AI based reconciliation.

~10% of India's global trade through its platform, thereby helping 5 of the top 10 exporters and importers reduce costs and get end to end shipment visibility. With roots growing in Middle East and South East Asia, Shipsy is quickly becoming the de facto platform to manage international trade.

We are looking for passionate Software Engineers to design, develop and scale software solutions. Software Engineer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, defining system functionality and developing web applications in ReactJs. Our ideal candidates are familiar with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment. Ultimately, the role of the Software Engineer is to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Translate UI/UX design wireframes to programming specifications that will produce visual elements of the application.

• Work with the UI/UX designers and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

• Write codes (in HTML, javascript, java, etc.) as per the specifications to achieve the stated output that integrates seamlessly with the interfacing applications.

• Work on Front-end frameworks such as ReactJs.

• Participate in team meetings to ideate on work improvements, problem solving sessions.

• 2-5 years of experience in front-end development. At least 1 year of experience with ReactJs(Must have)

• Understanding and practical knowledge of node, npm, webpack

• A deep understanding of JavaScript/CSS/HTML5.

• Understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS

• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript

• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.

• Well versed in agile methodology.

• Experience in software shipping cycles (dev, deploy, release, CI)

• Ability to document requirements and specifications

• University/college degree in Computer Science or relevant field
