The Role
Reporting to the Group Data Protection Officer, the Group Data Protection Executive will assist in improving and sustaining YouGov’s global privacy framework to address and mitigate data privacy risk and execute YouGov’s global data privacy strategy.
This individual will be a member of YouGov’s Global Governance team, sitting alongside and working closely with the Legal, Information Security and Company Secretarial teams. In addition to contributing to YouGov’s global privacy framework, the successful candidate can look forward to being a first point of contact for data privacy issues facing our global business.
What will I be delivering?
As a first point of contact for data privacy issues, the Group Data Protection Executive will be responsible for –
· Supporting global stakeholders across different teams to solve privacy issues, from helping colleagues to interpret and apply policies and guidelines to supporting long-term projects.
· Identifying privacy issues that need to be escalated and projects or processes that require a data protection impact assessment.
· Maintaining and suggesting improvements to existing processes, policies and guidelines, and identifying the need for new ones.
· Maintaining YouGov’s personal data processing inventory and tracking relevant team KPIs.
·Contributing to YouGov’s Privacy & Security Awareness framework.
· Identifying and documenting changes in global data privacy laws and regulations that may YouGov’s business.

A formal data protection qualification would be advantageous, e.g. CIPP, CIPM.
What do I need to bring with me?
Demonstrated knowledge and experience
·Experience of working in data privacy, ideally in a commercial environment or advising on commercial issues.
· Detailed knowledge of the key privacy principles, particularly those set out in the GDPR.
·Experience in analysing privacy laws, regulations and guidelines, applying them to business problems.
Behavioural competencies
·Highly inquisitive, with a passion for understanding the facts and relevant context of any given issue.
· Ability to solve advanced problems, combined with pragmatism and commercial awareness.
· Excellent relationship building skills, and able to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees and/or management.
·Excellent communication and reporting skills, both verbal and written.
· Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently to ensure deadlines are met.
· Accurate and exceptional attention to detail.
· Team player who works well with colleagues across the business.
