Platform Support Engineer

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with your colleagues to work through all manners of operational issues on our platform and develop or work with our development team to build secure, automated, reliable, and scalable solutions to common operational issues.

What Will You Do

• Make the Thinking Capital platform more supportable, reliable, secure, and scalable

• Create a bridge between Operations and Development by applying a software engineering mindset, principles, and practices to operational issues

• Develop automated solutions or identify appropriate tools and services to address operational aspects such as on-call monitoring, performance, capacity planning, and disaster response

• Practice continuous improvement through post-incident reviews with the Operations and Development teams

• Work with the Product team and internal stakeholders to build self-service solutions for customers and internal stakeholders

• Work with the Operations and Development teams to build solutions to improve the supportability of the platform

• Address support escalation issues

The Skills you Bring

• Ability to program: e.g., Ruby on Rails, Django (Python) or other web application frameworks

• Experience with front end technology: e.g., Angular, Node.js, JavaScript or other front-end development frameworks

• Experience with relational databases such as PostgresQL

• Experience with event based systems such as RabbitMq

• Experience with PaaS/ IaaS: e.g., Heroku, AWS

• Proficiency with Linux/UNIX command-line

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• A creative and proactive approach to addressing problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks

Other Valued Skills

• Salesforce administration and development

• Active Campaign administration

• Git or other version control systems

• Security and cryptography

• Big data platforms like Snowflake

• Experience in payment and billing or other finance solutions
