The project manager is typically a member of the strategic project office and will be assigned to priorities based on expertise and bandwidth. On occasion, a project manager may exist in the business and will be leveraged to work on a project on behalf of the strategic project office in partnership with the executive sponsor. The PM on a project is accountable to and works in conjunction with the Exec Sponsor and, where appropriate, partners with the functional leader to define scope, articulate deliverables as outlined in Consulting PM project plan. The PM is the primary owner of the project plan for all stated deliverables. The PM will identify and work closely with work stream leads to set the timeline and deliverables and cadence of touchpoints. The PM determines the tasks that must be completed, manages overall project plan execution, and is responsible through recommendation.
The project manager will be required, in conjunction with other staff, to perform change management and business process discovery.
