We are looking for a Senior Research Analyst to join our Singapore Oil & Gas team. Our dedicated oil and gas sector teams are located around the world, and deliver research and consulting projects based on our assessment and valuation of thousands of individual assets. Together we work with a range of clients including national and major oil companies, operators, investment banks and institutional investors.
About the role
As part of a world-class team of oil and gas experts, you will closely monitor and assess key events and commercial developments in oil and gas, analysing industry data. You will use this to produce high-quality research in the form of thought-provoking articles, presentations and reports. You will develop a unique perspective and understanding of oil and gas assets and will also gain exposure to the dynamics of LNG, a closely linked sector in the energy value chain.
As part of our integrated and collaborative environment, you will provide analytical support to consulting engagements, support sales and work within cross-team projects. You will gain experience in valuing oil,and gas assets as well as LNG plants, and understand the key issues that inform that valuation. You will also form opinions on corporate strategies, business environment, exploration, M&A deals, petroleum economics, government energy policy and regional geopolitics.
Through your research and responding to client queries, you will strengthen your network of contacts at key companies and bodies. Your contribution to our industry-leading written reports, economic models and presentations will be valued. You will get the opportunity to travel.
About you and how you can excel in this role
You are passionate about upstream oil and gas and you are developing an in-depth understanding of the energy sector. You have an analytical mindset and an eye for detail, which has been proven in your academic and work experience to date. You are comfortable collecting and interpreting data, articulating your findings in a clear and insightful manner. You also have a flair for writing and communication. Prior work experience in the energy sector or an understanding of the Asian upstream and LNG industry would be advantageous.
Your long-term aspiration is to be an influential subject matter expert setting the industry agenda. You are looking for a role where you can build on your existing knowledge and learn from others in a collaborative, commercial and client-centric environment. You also enjoy sharing what you have learnt with others.
