Job Description

We are looking for an experienced user experience research specialist to join our team. As a UX researcher at our company, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and forming product improvements and features. Your day-to-day tasks will consist of designing tests, conducting interviews, analyzing data, reporting insights and providing recommendations for the products that we are building, including mobile, web, and desktop apps. Your ability to understand our users, in an unbiased manner, will not only be welcomed but celebrated.

This position is full time in Redwood City, CA and/or Milpitas, CA. 

As our UX researcher, your responsibilities will include areas of design such as planning, designing tests, running interviews, and presenting insights and recommendations to the broader product group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the entire end to end UX research life-cycle (from planning to communicating results)
  • Work with product managers and designers to craft studies, and define test plans
  • Determine the best method to gather insights (interviews, diary studies, surveys, usability testing, etc.)
  • Source and screen candidates based on defined personas
  • Schedule and conduct in-person interview
  • Design and run online user interviews, or usability testing sessions
  • Document finding in clear and easy to digest format
  • Communicate the findings to the broader group, and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Serve as a 'repository' of research-based usability knowledge, inside of the product group.
  • Proactively and independently identify and articulate high-impact questions from a product or business perspective.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • A minimum of five years of professional experience as a UX Research Specialist or similar role.
  • BA/BS degree
  • Comfortable launching and iterating quickly and using data
  • In-depth understanding of UI design
  • Experience with conducting user research 
  • Experience with qualitative and user-centered design methodologies
  • Working knowledge of quantitative, behavioral analysis and statistics
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
