Job Description

THIS APPLICANT CAN BE BASED IN FOSTER CITY, CA, ATLANTA, GA, ASHBURN, VA, MIAMI, FL OR NEW YORK, NY.  WILL CONSIDER FULL TIME TELECOMMUTER TOO.  

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa’s network clients, including both financial services and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, Visa Consulting and Analytics solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

The North America Consulting Practice within VCA provides consulting and solution services for Visa’s largest issuers in the United States and Canada. We apply deep expertise in the payments industry to provide solutions to assist clients with their key business priorities, drive growth and improve profitability. The VCA team provides a comprehensive range of consulting services to deliver solutions that address unique challenges in areas such as improving profitability, strategic growth, customer experience, digital payments and managing risk.

The Strategy and Operations (S&O) team supports the North America VCA team through setting standards, developing foundational processes, and driving operational performance for the consulting organization. This Director, Strategy and Operations role will work on strategic and operational projects that have large impact across the team.

Some ways you may make an impact:

  • Institutionalize learning and development for the team, including building our new hire onboarding program and working with Global VCA on training design and refresh
  • Evangelize the work the NA VCA team delivers through publication of internal facing newsletters and external facing white papers and thought leadership
  • Manage the centralized staffing function and improve the way we deploy resources
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and design and implement action plans to address them

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, highly collaborative team player who is flexible and  proactive at identifying and resolving issues. This position reports to the Senior Director, S&O and can be based out of our SF Bay Area, New York, or Atlanta offices.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Strong planning, organizational, problem solving and execution experience
• Creative thinker with a results orientation who approaches any challenge with thoughtfulness, drive, and appropriate urgency
• High Emotional intelligence with an ability to communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict
• Customer-focused mindset, with a demonstrated track record of discovering key insights
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to navigate through ambiguity and experience in building new frameworks and processes
• A great team member who adds energy, ideas and fun to our team and corporate culture
• Experience working in an agile environment preferred

Additional Information

Work Hours: Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours

Travel Requirements: This position requires the incumbent to travel for work less than 10% of the time

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
