CRC Press (part of the Taylor and Francis Group) is looking for an Editor to help build our growing portfolio of scholarly and professional books in all areas of Science and Engineering including, but not limited to, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Systems and Controls, Robotics and Automation.
The Commissioning Editor will pro-actively commission new titles from authors based in China, building relationships with academic editors and learned society contacts as well as realising opportunities for growth through organic development and acquisitions. The editor will develop a strong commercial strategy for the program in line with CRC Press’ overall objectives, will grow the book offerings in these key subject areas, and will be aware of competitor strengths and weaknesses to take advantage of opportunities in the market.
The successful applicant should possess strong commercial awareness, exhibit an aptitude for highly organised teamwork, a collegiate attitude towards the sharing of projects and ideas. The ability to work towards demanding targets is essential.

What you'll be doing:
Your job responsibilities may include the following but not limited to:
In consultation with the Publisher, meet demanding annual commissioning and revenue goals, commissioning new professional titles, research monographs and textbooks that respond to current market and research needs;
Meet annual frontlist plans, working closely with an editorial assistant to ensure that manuscript submission, production, and publishing deadlines are met;
Extensive research of the engineering markets through virtual campus calling and virtual conference attendance throughout China;
Close liaison with authors, series editors, as well as internal colleagues in editorial, production, marketing, and sales.
