Job Description

Reporting to Purchasing Quality management with indirect reporting to our global business unit paint expert, this position is responsible for new product/process start-ups and serial production at our windshield wiper arm painting supplier.  This includes responsibility to ensure that windshield wiper arms meet internal and external customer paint specifications. Global travel is required mostly during the first year for on-site training and lessons learned sharing from other Bosch painting facilities. On-site residency at our supplier is required (approximately 80%) for monitoring and reporting out launch and serial production effectiveness (e.g. early production containment, scrap, rework and operating efficiencies). 

As part of Purchasing Supplier Quality (PQT), this position is responsible to meet policy deployment indicators (KPIs) and strategic initiative requirements.

Performance indicators (KPIs) per annual Purchasing Quality Policy deployment:

  • Supplier Related Incident Reduction (SRI/bn)
  • Customer Related Incident Reduction (CRI/bn)

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry
  • Automotive industry experience (6+ years) in manufacturing engineering or quality engineering in a painting facility (e-coating and powder coating).
  • Willingness to be resident (80%) at our supplier in Mexico approximately one hour from Queretaro
  • Intermediate experience with the use of quality system methodologies including 8D, Lean, 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, Q-Basics, Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, auditing (VDA 6.3, IATF 16949), etc…
  • Experience with structured problem solving (8D, Shainin Red X, Kepner-Tregoe, 6-Sigma, etc…).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Works well with diverse groups of associates and is able to function independently of direct supervision.
  • Proficient in English and Spanish (oral and written).
  • Ability to global travel (mostly the first year for training and learning from other Bosch painting facilities)
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office and other applications.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
