Profile:

We're looking for an ambitious Development Manager to join the Collections and Tracing Domain within Digital Consumer Information, one of Experian UK’s largest and most exciting business areas. The successful candidate will have a passion to build outstanding teams, and drive a high performance culture that supports innovation, learning and collaboration to develop the best Engineering talent. They will ensure the teams are adhering to the highest technical standards and support Agile methods to deliver high value business outcomes. The candidate must have in-depth experience of the software development lifecycle, have a strong sense of ownership responsibility and contribute to the UK&I Revenue through cost-effective, on time, high-quality delivery.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver resilient and quality software. Developed in order to support strategy, roadmaps, customer deliveries, and target outcomes for all products in the domain​
  • Provide leadership and support to the Agile team ensuring that best practice software development principals are adhered to.
  • Work with Product Owners and Domain Leaders to create the technology roadmap to achieve business goals and provide a sustainable platform for future growth and operational needs.
  • Build and maintain high performing, effective and successful software engineering teams
  • Develops and implement new approaches to accelerate time to value delivery
  • Proactively lead, execute and improve DevSecOps processes
  • Execute and optimize Run the Business (RTB) and Change the Business (CTB) productivity to achieve budget / outcome expectations
  • Recruiting high performing engineering talent into the teams
  • Manages team performance and development, developing and promoting the team’s culture
  • Drive increased engagement through regular communication and feedback and appropriate reward and recognition tools. 
  • Design and implement metrics to measure performance across key dimensions of delivery.

Qualifications

Education:

Individuals will ideally be qualified to Degree level, or equivalent experience,  in a software engineering discipline or can demonstrate 5+ years commercial experience managing and developing successful software Engineering teams.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Relevant industry experience leading Agile teams to successfully deliver large value outcomes
  • A self-starter able to take on complex technical challenges and find solutions through the team
  • Experience of delivering products using agile development methodology techniques, working directly with developers/technical teams
  • Experience navigating the complex landscape of technologies, 3rd party suppliers, internal and cross-department teams.
  • Has excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and a good understanding of the use of different channels and formats for a diverse mix of audiences.
  • Experience working with diverse teams across multiple locations, on and offshore, using multiple technologies to enable a digitally connected team.
  • Organised, identifying, prioritising and delegating tasks within a team
  • Logical and analytical with the ability to see the implications of technical findings and issues

 

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with development/agile tooling such as Jira, Mural, Confluence
  • DevOps experience of Bitbucket and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience of cloud development using AWS or Windows Azure
  • Experience delivering large transformational programmes
