Are you passionate about Open Source and always wanted to contribute to an Open Source project? Would you like to play a meaningful role in the democratization of Machine Learning as part of a scaling, venture-backed start-up?
We are seeking a Community Maintainer that will help with improving the general health of MIndsDB OSS and make MindsDB more approachable to outside contributors, build new features and guide MindsDB users. The Community Maintainer will work closely with the MindsDB community and the core development team, defining and owning the strategic community roadmap.
Ideally, you have maintained an active open source project before or have experience contributing to open-source projects. At MindsDB you will have the opportunity to work with experts in developing open source products, engineering, AI Research, and MIndsDB's partners in a truly exciting product category.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide and facilitate technical expertise for MindsDB’s community, answer technical questions in the MindsDB community(Slack, GitHub, StackOverflow).
- Increase the number of supported database integrations and maintain the existing ones.
- Identify and implement opportunities for refactoring and improving existing database integrations to make MindsDB better.
- Collaborate with our engineering and product teams to translate community feedback into meaningful product insights.
- Build tutorials and other content in support of the community.
- Contribute and maintain technical documentation.
- Ensure the success of MindsDB Open Source users.
QUALIFICATIONS
- You love Open Source, Databases, MLYou have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- You have previous experience with Python, SQL, designing or using data system tools, ML(bonus), Git(GitHub).
- You have 2+ years of experience contributing or maintaining Open Source projects.
