Senior BI Analyst

Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for both delivering business insights to the Thinking Capital business and working with engineering to maintain the data dictionary, ensure accuracy of data, and enable the availability of the underlying data infrastructure within Looker. Our analysts partner with various business units to address strategic and operational questions facing the business including customer behavior, performance measurement as well as product and marketing efficiency.

What you’ll do

• Generate key strategic quantitative analyses of the Thinking Capital business to facilitate fact-based decision-making with a focus on return on investment.
• Develop and maintain necessary dashboards, both automated and manual, across multiple data sets to provide insight and drive business decisions.
• Apply your exceptional analytical and data manipulation skills to test hypotheses and deliver key business insights utilizing both Thinking Capital and external data sources.
• Pioneering multiple projects at the same time. Offer analysis of existing and recommended projects, and selection of tools.
• Taking project ownership and utilizing expertise in solving problems.
• Analyze findings and offer action-driven recommendations and insights to executive leaders and managers based on results.
• Provide guidance on data governance, data quality, and master data management best practices.
• Mentoring BI Analysts in Business Intelligence and Risk practices.
• Act as a liaison between Finance, Technology, and Risk Departments, to ensure clear communication and expectations are defined and met.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Management, Technology, or other quantitative fields.
• Minimum of five years related practical and relevant work experience.
• A plus if you have experience with BI tools: Looker, Snowflake, DBT, Jupyter.
• Experience in data manipulation and analysis as well as business intelligence, with significant experience in designing and developing reports, dashboards, and insights.
• Experience in reports, dashboards, and OLAP cube development.
• Skilled at analyzing data and identifying potential business-related insights.
• Experience with BI platforms (Tableau, Looker, or any other).
• Good knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).
• Object-oriented programming experience is an asset; (Java, Python, JavaScript).
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
• Ability to manage end-to-end processes from requirements gathering, scoping analysis, mock generation, quality control to final delivery.
• Outstanding skills in finding a resolution to complicated problems while performing independently in a multifaceted and fast-paced dynamic environment.
• Unique skills in generating efficient, reliable working relationships with stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Experience in the finance industry is a bonus.
