Senior UX Researcher

Experian Consumer Services is looking for a talented Sr. UX Researcher. You will be a vital member of the team responsible for the creation and optimization of Experian’s consumer facing financial products. Your role is to compliment business strategies and aid in creating best-in-class user experiences through UX research. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners (UX/UI Designers, Product Managers, Consumer Insights, Data Analysts, and Developers) to research, create, implement and test engaging product experiences for our portfolio of responsive web and native mobile apps. 

Recently established, Experian’s UX Research program is in its early stages, so there’s plenty of room to help develop it and leave your mark.

What you’ll be doing:

• Plan and organize usability research, including screener design, script development, and moderation planning.
• Recruit users and moderate regular testing sessions (sometimes in-person but mostly using remote tools). 
• Summarize and present research findings for the broader cross-functional teams in order to optimize digital products.
• Understand qualitative and quantitative research data and help translate findings into functional designs.
• Synthesize research, market trends, competitive data, etc. to inform successful online experiences.
• Analyze user engagement performance metrics and test alternative design solutions. 
   

What your background looks like:

• Portfolio demonstrating research ­­required. 
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in UX Research, human factors, cognitive psychology, or similar.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in UX Research.
• Experience designing and conducting qualitative research studies.
• Deep understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
• Proven ability to translate research findings into actiona­­ble product improvements.
• Self-starter with project management skills.
• Strong cross-discipline team player who can influence and work collaboratively with all team members.
• Advocate for UX research and best practices (manage/facilitate/educate) within a company that is relatively new to UX research.
• Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills.
• Creative problem solver with a positive attitude. 
• Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a drive to answer complicated questions.
• Ability to teach, provide positive constructive feedback, and motivate others.
• Expert in UserTesting, Usability Hub, Alpha, Qualtrics, Optimal Workshop and/or other UX research testing platforms.
• Understanding and experience working within an Agile Development Process. 
• Understanding of A/B and multivariate testing and optimization a plus.
