Job Description

Do you like large-scale engineering problems? Are you thriving in being one step ahead and solving problems for development teams before they arise? Is defining engineering standards your favourite part of the job? Wood Mackenzie is on a mission to change the way we power our planet. That’s not an easy task, therefore we need Principal Engineers that will be the cornerstones in our scaling journey by designing, implementing and evolving our state-of-the-art system architecture.

Our Principal Engineers form the backbone of our engineering community focusing on companywide, complex and often ambiguous problems. As a principal engineer, you will own and lead cross-team initiatives shaping our system architecture and improving our operation excellence standards. You will be looking after multiple engineering teams providing insight and guidance around the architecture evolution of services, their performance as well as their observability and security standards. You will collaborate with other engineering leaders in identifying and procuring new tools that will massively improve our system of delivery. With no line management responsibilities your focus will be on raising the bar of our engineering culture through mentorship and influence.
