The Sr. Account Manager (SAM) (also called Supervisor, Digital Activation) is a base-level management position. This position is accountable for the negotiation, buying, implementation and tracking of programmatic and direct digital media plans. The role itself demands an approachable, agile team player with a proven track record in successful programmatic performance trading. The SAM partners with the Associate Media Director to set the overarching strategic tone for the assigned accounts. The SAM is expected to have a strong working knowledge of digital media, digital platforms, and negotiations/buying strategies. This includes ensuring campaigns are set up and go live on time, deliver in full to the correct budget and to their performance KPI. The SAM is responsible for managing a team – developing their skills, evaluating their performance, and managing their growth. In addition to their core account assignments, the SAM is expected to take part in larger areas of agency development – aiding with new business pitches, committees, and task forces. This role is a step toward greater leadership within the media group and the agency overall.
