Job Description

Reporting to: VP, Business Development

The BioPharma Business Development Representative (BDR) will be an important member of the Biopharma Business Development team with a primary focus on prospecting new clients and building a pipeline of qualified business opportunities. These opportunities would come from a mixture of inbound and outbound activity. Additionally, this individual will have input into marketing initiatives directed at new customers, whether that’s a CRM strategy or conference events / engagement. Given the customer facing nature of this role, this individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, tenacity, and the strategic ability to develop and execute on a targeting plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Develop a strong knowledge of the Guardant Health products and services for the Biopharma audience, including the ability to provide a compelling overview of each offering tailored to each customer’s needs

·        Filter through and follow up on inbound leads solicited through our website, conferences, among other sources

·        Actively manage and update a master target list of new prospective clients for outreach based on their drug development pipeline

·        Partner closely with our Salesforce.com team to organize and input new leads / prospects into our CRM

·        Establish initial rapport with key contacts at new Biopharma accounts and bring in Business Development and cross-functional team leads as appropriate

·        Provide quarterly metrics around lead generation activity; meet or exceed lead generation goals

Qualifications

Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4+ years of business development or sales development experience at a healthcare or life sciences company required.
  • Understanding of the oncology therapeutic landscape and/or knowledge of molecular diagnostics  preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of success meeting or exceeding sales / lead generation goals that support revenue targets and business objectives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills when engaging with internal and external customers
  • Strategic approach to customer acquisition that advances prospects along the selling cycle  
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong learning agility
  • Well organized
  • Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills that translate to effective outreach and tactics

Additional Information

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time.
