Job Description

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our team in Luxembourg !

Located in Rodange (L), one of our largest sites in Europe,  you will be reporting to the European  Manufacturing For Future Manager. In this key role, you will partner with the entire Supply Chain & Operation organization on their journey towards Digitalization and Manufacturing For Future Initiative.

You will play a key role in driving Business transformation and deliver value through continuous improvements in productivity, service and customer excellence as well as enlarging the required analytical skills of the organization on our journey in becoming a digital company. 

We are looking for a candidate to join our Supply Chain & Operations - Manufacturing For Future team to help us discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data and help us make smarter decisions to deliver even more value to the organisation. Your primary focus will be in understanding the Supply Chain & Operation Processes and the problem they’re facing, using your analytical mindset to gather and dig into relevant data, research, train, test models and modeling techniques suitable to solving the problem, and delivering results back to the business in a tangible and coherent way. 

Your 2021/22 main goals will be to drive substantial improvements on Operating assets applying Advanced Analytics & Data Science Technique on productivity improvement projects.  

Your responsibilities will include:

Solutioning

  • Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems, enabler  problem solving investigation

  • Process, clean and verify the integrity of data used for analysis

  • Research, train, and test models including feature selection, building and optimizing classifiers, predictive using machine learning techniques

Innovation

  • Identify improvements to current processes and investigate future opportunities to the various functions in the organisation

  • Support strategic efforts to engage the wider organization in this space

Partnership

  • Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with our key business users to support increasing use of data science to improve operational and financial performance

  • Deliver results in a partnering and collaborative style by influence stakeholders

  • Manage testing cycles

  • Provide training and coaching services to key users on the built solutions. 

  • Doing ad-hoc analysis as required and presenting results in a clear manner

In this strategic role, you will have the opportunity to join and attend the training sessions of our European Graduate program (lean manufacturing, Six sigma, soft skills trainings,...)

Qualifications

  • You have a Master’s Degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or an equivalent degree with a data science focus. 

  • You have experience with at least one of the following:  Python, R, STATA, MatLab, etc. // Fluent in SQL and Python. Having experience with R and Matlab is a nice to have.

  • You possess a strong experience with Time Series analysis and also an experience with GIT.

  • You are familiar with common packages for data wrangling/munging, testing/analysis, and visualizations (Plotly is a strong plus)

  • You have excellent applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, statistical modeling, and excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms.

  • You have excellent communication and partnering skills within a matrix organization and you have the ability  to explain your models clearly to both analysts and decision makers

  • English is mandatory, French and German are a strong plus

  • You have the ability to multi-task and you can manage multiple projects at the same time

  • Open for travelling at a minimum of 10% of your time

  • Nice to have: Exposure to Business Intelligence tools (Oracle BI, Cognos, Tableau, etc.), Six Sigma Certification (Greenbelt / Blackbelt), Hands on with RapidMiner or equivalent tools.
