Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager and the Service Delivery Manager, as the Lead Exchange Engineer, you will have Operational responsibility for Exchange in a large Federal Government Department. Our customer is planning a transition to Hybrid Exchange and this role will be a key part of the successful delivery.

This is a technical role focused on the delivery of Messaging services. The successful candidate should be able to work in a demanding environment with an enthusiastic sense of customer support. Communication and coordination with other technology groups, both internal and customer, in a complex and highly governed environment will be key to success. Remaining calm in a crises would be an advantage but preventing it in the first place would be the preference.

Your duties will include;

  • Operational delivery of Messaging Services for 28,000 users;
  • Contributing to solving complex technical problems and ensuring the completion of programs and projects;
  • Performing incident/Service Request triage and resolution;
  • Supporting project implementation;
  • Participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives to streamline processes, improve efficiency and meet business demands;

This role may include some 24/7 on-call support and out of hours work. 

Qualifications

Essential

  • Exchange administration esperience, preferably certified;  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to produce clear technical documentation;
  • AD, Networking, Storage and Backup (in relation to Exchange);
  • Solid understanding of modern server and storage Infrastructure ;
  • ITIL certification;

Desirable

  • Leadership experience in a technical team;
  • Technical Experience/Specialty in:
    • Active Directory Domain Services, SCCM\MECM, SCOM, etc;
    • ADFS, AzureAD, (hybrid Exchange);
    • O365 suite;
    • Backup services, CommVault prefered;
    • Splunk, Carbon Black, McAfee Suite ;
    • Network Switching;

Additional Information

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and ideally have a current Baseline security clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
