Job Description

The Business Architect works as part of the IFS DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) regional Presales team and plays a vital role in engaging with key prospects/customers/partners, identifying & properly positioning value-anchored IFS solutions supporting the generation of significant sales revenue for IFS.  The Business Architect is part of a team who works with Enterprise and Key Accounts to define the solutions, and the value that the customer would derive from those solutions.  This position plays a critical role in supporting the conception of a solution vision, building a unique value proposition, facilitating proposal development, driving the development of a supporting business case and being able to evangelize and present the IFS proposal & business value to key contacts including C-Level management – internally and externally.

The Business Architect responsibilities include assisting with the response to Request for Proposals (RFPs), developing the solution vision, value, and competitive positioning of the IFS solution in the context of the needs of the prospect.  Working as a team with Sales and Presales Leadership, Global Customer Services, and Business Value Engineering, this person plays a key role in winning profitable business for IFS. 

  • Work closely with the IFS regional Sales and Presales leadership to engage with specific prospects, to provide solution-related guidance and help position IFS in a favorable way to the prospect.
  • Focus on the manufacturing business requirements & processes of larger, key accounts to demonstrate how the IFS solution can drive superior business outcomes.
  • Understand IFS product capabilities and industry requirements at a reasonably detailed level, drive the resolution of solution gaps, product line decisions, and / or partner engagement on specific opportunities.
  • Be able to identify, understand and communicate solutions to complex business requirements quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to lead an opportunity (team) from a presales perspective
  • Be able to position the value-added services that support the IFS software solution, that leads to high quality, long term engagement with the customer.
  • Be able to present to C-Level executives in a clear, concise and compelling manner.
  • Work closely with IFS regional and global presales resources in support of common methodologies, shared collaterals and implementation of best practices.
  • Work closely with IFS Global Customer Services resources to support seamless transition from presales motions to delivery and support motions.
  • Work closely with the IFS industry and marketing team(s) to understand and improve our industry and product messaging.
  • Help to ensure the continued transformation of IFS as the company scales further in its rapid growth phase.

Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes, enterprise business software architectures and technical platforms
  • Deep experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and/or Service Management solutions
  • Strong technical skills and a relevant knowledge of modern development tools and platforms
  • Superior problem-solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of, and experience with, sales and software demonstration processes and protocols
  • The ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
  • The ability to present before a group, in a comfortable manner, and often under pressure
  • Able to work in a dynamic environment, with frequent schedule and requirement changes
  • Bias toward being proactive rather than reactive
  • 6+ years Presales / Business Consulting experience in the ERP-/ Business-Software environment
  • Language: German native or equal, English business proficient
  • Location: Germany – remote or office
