Job Description

Position Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to actively support the IFS Americas regional sales process by creatively solving technical problems, developing and presenting technical solution concepts, and demonstrating the value of the technology underpinning IFS enterprise software solutions.  This includes applying enterprise architecture knowledge, technology skills, and creative problem-solving talents to align IFS products to best match a prospect’s business requirements, and to demonstrate potential technical solutions in a compelling manner with the objective of winning new business.

The position primarily provides technical direction and support during the sales cycle, to devise technical solutions to complex business requirements.  It requires in-depth product and technology knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through advanced product configuration, integrations, and architectural solutions.  It includes sales presentations and product demonstrations. 

Key Objectives

As an IFS Enterprise Architect, you, together with the functional Business Solution Architects, play a vital role in generating significant sales revenue and gross margin for IFS.   During the sales process with prospects and customers, your responsibilities are to work closely with Business Solution Consultants by solving problems, developing bespoke configurations, technical enhancements, and prototype solutions.  Working as a team, you play a key role in bringing in good, profitable business for IFS.

Essential Functions:

  • Support at external and internal customer facing events, including participation in product presentations with prospects and customers with a focus on the business value delivered
  • Work to understand the wider architecture of the customer environment, looking for additional value IFS could add with an extended solution
  • Be skilled in performing Technical Value Assessments (TVAs) to make recommendations to a customer’s technology landscape
  • Ensure the successful delivery of Proof of Concepts (POC) is tied to the customers’ success criteria and business initiatives
  • Maintain a degree of knowledge of specific IFS products and services including roadmaps and liaison with Product Management. 
  • Use the knowledge and/or the understanding of the major customers’ requirement to provide and/or propose technologically and commercially viable product/solution improvement feedbacks 
  • Maintain and use the knowledge and/or the understanding technology trends to propose technical / architectural solutions to deployment and implementation challenges, that improves the customer's perception of the IFS solution, and helps the customer meet their business objectives.
  • Technical preparation of compelling “Proof of Concept” product demonstrations and integrations
  • Innovating and applying new approaches and techniques
  • Continually embracing new functional and technological products
  • The ability to solve complex technical problems quickly
  • Accurate and timely reporting of work.
  • Work with other technical staff to share knowledge, expertise as needed to insure overall department growth and success
  • Have a valid passport and the ability to travel as required.

Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of enterprise business software architectures, deployment models, and technical platforms
  • Familiarity with ERP, EAM, and Field Service solutions
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of modern development tools and platforms
  • Good working knowledge of industry requirements, norms, and general expectations related to ERP / EAM solutions
  • Superior problem-solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of, and experience with, sales and software demonstration processes and protocols
  • The ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong familiarity with Cloud architecture, landscape and best practices
  • The ability to present before a group, in a comfortable manner, and sometimes under pressure
  • Able to work in a dynamic environment, with frequent schedule and requirement changes
  • Bias toward being proactive rather than reactive
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience required
