Job Description

Sacré-Davey Engineering is currently looking for an experienced Accounting Clerk to join our Finance and Accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, the key to success in this role is to be a mature, responsible, and dedicated self-starter who delivers tasks on time, thrives in a fast-paced environment and pays attention to detail.

Responsibilities for this role include a combination of the following:

Accounts Payable:

  • Assemble, review and verify invoices, expense reports and payment requests
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Sort, code and match invoices and expense reports
  • Enter and upload invoices into system
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Produce bi-weekly payables forecasts
  • Produce payables listing for payment
  • Produce cheques
  • Record payments made by electronic transfer
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
  • Expense and credit card reconciliations

Accounts Receivable:

  • Prepare draft and final invoices for all billable projects, including all applicable backup for approval by Project Managers
  • Sends final invoices to Clients
  • Prepares and sends Accounts Receivable statements to Clients.

Accounting:

  • Assist in the collection and processing of weekly employee timesheets
  • Support accurate and timely processing of all subledger transactions, including AP, AR, and Bank Reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate historical records
  • Other duties as assigned

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary is between $50,000 - $57,000

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position
  • Some post-secondary school education required
  • Experience in a project based, engineering service industry strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Ability to perform tasks in a multi currency environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written skills)
  • Self-motivated, self-starter and a positive attitude
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and ensure security of information
  • Bilingual in French and English an asset
  • Experience with integrated enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) systems an asset
