Job Description

Legal Counsel is needed for a global marketing communications agency with abilities to handle review and negotiations of media, creative and consumer experience management (CXM) related agreements with senior-level legal support leading to fully independent work.  Experience with gaming, health and e-commerce is a plus. In this role, the Legal Counsel will:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with advertiser clients and media vendors (including media owners and adtech vendors), data/IP licenses, and digital media creative production
  • Counsel the business on planning, buying, and placement of traditional, mobile, social, and digital media ads, as well as the execution of digital marketing and custom content integration campaigns
  • Assist on compliance and corporate governance issues and transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and integration
  • Proactively collaborate with colleagues across dentsu’s three services lines (creative, media and customer experience) and dentsu’s central business functions (HR, Finance, IT)
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on media-related matters

Qualifications

  • JD from a US ABA-accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in State where you reside
  • U.S. based (location flexible)
  • 2-5 years of relevant in-house law department and/or law firm experience
  • Commercial contract negotiation and drafting experience
  • Experience with copyright, trademark, rights of publicity, license agreements general IP issues, privacy and data security issues and compliance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Competencies:

  • You are commercially minded and can succinctly articulate legal advice
  • You are comfortable working with all levels of management and negotiating with external partners
  • You have well-developed prioritization skills given the likelihood of dealing with multiple projects at any one time
