Job Description

Here’s how we work:

IBI Group’s Burnaby office is looking for a Revit Technician (Intermediate) to join their team. Our Burnaby office specializes in providing solutions involving UX/UI, IMIT, communications, security and audio-visual systems to organizations that rely on enabling technology for its success

They are a group of specialists that has worked on thousands of technology projects, and wanted to use that experience to design solutions that people love to use. We primarily service a demand in sectors of the building industry such as healthcare, corrections and higher education, where technology is critical to their success in delivering their core services. As such, these market sectors require a high level of expertise and experience in technology consulting and engineering that is not found in the current traditional engineering community.

Most of the things you’ll work on:

  • Report to the Senior Technology Systems Specialist and Technology Systems Architect;
  • Provide Revit support for design projects;
  • Assist project teams with Revit modelling requirements, content creation and coordination efforts;
  • Revit model and project model setup;
  • Document control & management;
  • Develop customised solutions as required;
  • Revit and design focus is in technology systems and devices;
  • Creation and management of families for technology systems including ESS, AV, Communications, IM/IT & Structured cabling
  • Develop drawings using design information provided from Visio, Bluebeam and CAD including systems line diagrams, floor plans and elevations;

Qualifications

You'll need to have:

  • College/Technical/University Diploma
  • 1+ years of Revit software design and application experience
  • Revit and modelling in MEP, Architectural, Structural
  • Revit & design focus is in technology systems and devices
  • Experience working with design markup programs such as Visio, Bluebeam, CAD
  • Experience working in a large office or work environment
  • Capable with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word and Excel
  • Comfortable working with remote task assignment software programs
  • Familiarity and comfort in working in agile sprint based team assignment and organizational structure
  • Ability to work with remote enabling technologies such as Microsoft Teams, Webex, Zoom, Go To Meeting etc.
  • Confident with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Energetic, diplomatic, flexible, problem-solving mindset
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills with the ability to take initiative
  • Engineering/ Architectural / Construction Industry experience beneficial

Our Burnaby office is located on the 6th floor of 2700 Production Way, a concrete and steel construction with double-glazed floor-to-ceiling windows with a beautiful view of Burnaby Mountain forested parkland.  The Burnaby office is easily accessible by bike, car, and public transit. We are a walking distance to Lake City/Production Way Skytrain station or 2 minutes bus ride that stops in front of our entrance. Burnaby is located at the center of Metro Vancouver with 25% of its land designated as parks and open space. It has multiple major commercial town centre developments, recreational facilities, major post-secondary institutions, libraries, high technology research and business parks, Arts, heritage and cultural facilities.
