Job Description

Developing Relationships:

  • Develop and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with customers, partners, and other key stakeholders in the federal contracting space.
  • Establish a regular cadence of in-person meetings with key industry contacts to build the brand and expand business.

Communicating:

  • Own and orchestrate outreach to key constituents (customers, partners, key stakeholders) and tailor communications to meet their needs and advance strategy.
  • Gain direct market intelligence and usE it wisely to grow the business.
  • Leverage company leaders and SMEs to increase the impact of meetings.

Market Research and Pipeline Management:

  • Use in-person and online resources to identify and qualify opportunities.
  • Build and curate a multi-year, multi-agency pipeline that consistently delivers revenue at targeted levels.

Opportunity Management and Capture:

  • Represent the voice of the customer and ensure that bid strategy stays true to customer needs.
  • Work the internal deal by socializing new opportunities early with your team, gaining support, and mitigating issues.
  • Identify and cultivate teaming partners.

Qualifications

 

  • Leadership mindset – ability to shoulder responsibility for growth within a market territory.
  • Knowledge of federal contracting – at least 7 years in business development with direct responsibility for winning new business in the IT services market. Include several representative wins and pursuits in your resume and cover letter.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of specific federal agencies, solutions, market areas. Please include descriptions of these knowledge areas in your resume and cover letter and specify the agencies you have focused on.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal business acquisition, such as, online market research tools and resources; gate review processes; capture and proposal best practices. If you have been trained in a specific methodology, please specify that.
  • Appetite and aptitude for increased responsibility and professional growth based on demonstrated results.
