Job Description

The finance team partners with University staff to ensure the ongoing financial sustainability of Griffith through the provision of accurate, transparent, relevant and timely information and analysis. This is supported by an array of financial systems and processes. 

Reporting to the Manager, Accounting, Tax & Treasury, this position plays a key role in supporting the financial reporting framework for the university. Specifically, you will develop, implement and continue to improve processes to comply with financial accounting and tax reporting requirements (e.g. FBT, GST) and resolve escalated issues. You will also provide detailed advice on finance, accounting and tax policies, systems and issues.   

This role involves various reporting requirements to State and Federal bodies which will involve utilising the management information platforms and interaction across the departments. Reconciliations, review of sub ledgers and contributing to the assurance required in relation to the integrity of the reporting also forms part of this role. 

This is a full time continuing position based at our Nathan campus. 

The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 7, Base Salary $89,384 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total package is in the range of $104,580 to $113,3301 per annum.

Qualifications

To be successful in this position you will be CA or CPA qualified with a demonstrated background in a similar position or a track record of high performance at a reputable professional services firm.

You will have experience in the preparation or review of financial reports including the interpretation and application of accounting standards and principles. Any tax experience will be highly preferable.

You will be able to identify and drive process improvement initiatives alongside superb communication and stakeholder engagement skills to effectively liaise across the university.
